The Rotary Club of Abuja Maitama on Monday donated 100 birthing kits to Maitama General Hospital.
It also donated two wheelchairs and a stretcher, rehabilitated the accident and emergency unit of the hospital, renovated the matrons/nurses compound and repainted the nurses’ HOD’s office.

Speaking during the presentation in Abuja, the District Governor, District 9125 of Rotary International, Goddy Nnadi, said: “As mothers and wives to many of us, we don’t see what they go through when they’re pregnant. When you come here, you’ve a feel of what they go through.”
Addressing journalists, President, Rotary Club of Abuja Maitama, Yusuf Alli, said: “This year, we chose to renovate the accident and emergency unit of the hospital because globally, we’re in need of emergencies.
“Drawing from the lessons of COVID-19 and with what is happening in Turkey and Syria now, you don’t need a soothsayer to know that emergency is a vital component of hospital service.”
