The Rotary Club of Abuja, Maitama on Sunday unveiled Rotn Dinah Achele-Akuh as its 9th president for 2020/2021.
Achele-Akuh would continue to focus on the seven-point area of focus of her predecessors.
The club, according to a member of the Board of Directors and President Nominee/Rotary Foundation Chair, Yusuf Ali, is expected to spend at least N10m on such community projects as water, sanitation and hygiene, maternal and child care, disease prevention and treatment, basic education, literacy, among others.
Achele-Akuh said the club would ensure a green and serene environment by planting trees on barren land surface.
She said: “I, as the president of this great club for the year 2020-2021, with your co-operation, will by the grace of God, connect with the District and Rotary International.
“I hope to enrich our fellowship time, encourage more friendliness amongst members as one family, grow and ensure membership retention, increase our Rotary Foundation giving and execute bigger, bolder and more impactful projects in all 6 areas of focus including our new area of focus: ‘Supporting the Environment.’
