Chairman, Board of Trustees of the fund, Adeniji Raji said apart from awarding 85 scholarships since 2010 when the fund was formally registered, it donated 500,000 to flood victims in Benue and contributed N1.5m to the Vocational Centre in Igbogbo.

The District Governor, Kola Sodipo said the scholarship was to bring succour to the needy in terms of educational support.

You find out that there are many students out there in various higher institutions of learning that are good but for one reason or the other, they are incapacitated by not having enough fund to see themselves through academic pursuit, he said.

Chairman of DEWEF Scholarship Committee, Alaba Olalekan said the district would explore expanding the scholarships to accommodate more beneficiaries.
