Nigerian youths have been advised to engage in humanitarian efforts by serving humanity and touching lives in order for posterity to remember their good deeds.

The Chartered President of the Rotaract Club of Oyingbo West CB, District 9141 in Lagos, Uzomba Prudence, gave this advice when the Rotaract club presented an award to a renowned humanitarian journalist, Chigozie Effe recently.

She lamented that youths in Nigeria are not interested in humanitarian efforts but would prefer to show off.

The award, according to the club, was based on the “Recognition of his extraordinary selfless service and support to humanity.”

Uzomba said the club had been monitoring the humanitarian efforts of the recipient on social media and deemed him fit to receive the award.

“When I got nominated to be the Chartered President of Rotaract Club of Oyingbo West CB, and during one of our award presentations, I thought of so many people who in one way or the other have impacted humanity and Chigozie Effe came across my mind and I reached across to him, sent him a letter and he approved of it.

“It is not easy being a humanitarian in a country like Nigeria, it is not easy serving humanity, it is not easy going about the cause of humanity, it is something I admire when I see people doing it because I am one.
