Robbery victim offered N2.5m, job

A motorcyclist, Mr Silas John, who was robbed of his motorcycle, has received a N2.5 million donation, a job at a fertiliser plant in Jos, Plateau State.

John received the offer at a comedy show organised by a popular Comedian, Godwin Alechenu Ogah, popularly known as Funny Gee, in Jos the Plateau State capital.

His daughter was also offered a one-year scholarship by members of the audience.

Recalled that Silas John who is a science laboratory graduate and a motorcyclist was found lying unconscious and bleeding at Fwavwei Junction, Rayfield, Jos, Plateau State capital on Saturday, 15th October by 7:30 pm and left unattended to by passers-by.

Funny Gee (the comedian) who was then driving along that road came to his rescue and initially took him to the Nigerian Air Force Hospital in Jos, where he got first-aid treatment, after which he was referred to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH).

On getting to JUTH, doctors said he would require surgery in addition to other treatment, which would cost N600,000.

The money was raised on social media after the comedian appealed for donations.

Speaking with newsmen yesterday, Funny Gee said the show of love by his audience to Silas John was touching and highly appreciated.

He said humanity is a focal point of his comedy/entertainment drive, explaining that his desire was to use his talent not only to entertain his audience or fans but also to assist the needy, less privileged or those in distress.
