Robbers have continued to steal from the Osogbo Steel Rolling Company in Osun State despite its privatisation by the federal government.
The Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Ishaq Muhammad, said some of the robbers were apprehended with armoured cables and other items stolen from the company.
After the privatisation policy of the federal government, the hope of the people of Osun was that the moribund steel company would bounce back and contribute to economic growth, especially by generating employment opportunities for the youths.
But that hope was dashed as the company has remained inactive several years after the privatisation.
