Robbers, in the early hours of Monday, raided a warehouse located at the New Gwazunu community in Suleja LGA of Niger State.
Commander of the security vigilantes in Gauraka, a town that shares a boundary with the community, Sabo Abdullahi, told City & Crime that three of their members, namely Ibrahim Sulaiman, Garba, and Abubakar who were guarding the facility, were injured by the attackers, who were armed with two AK 47 riffles, as well as other weapons.
He said the attackers, on arrival, tied the three guards with a long jalabiya gown, which they cut into pieces.
He said, “They equally tortured two of them by smashing Garba with the gun around his forehead and used a plier to pull out one of the toes of Ibrahim, leaving them severally injured.’’

He listed the stolen items by the gunmen to include a power generator, a cutting machine, a roll of nylon used to produce sachet water, as well as two mobile phones of the victims.
He added, “They arrived with a gas welding machine, and the carpenter’s bar to force the gate of the warehouse opened, took the looted items into a vehicle, before they hurriedly left the scene, leaving their operating tools behind, after being flashed with the torch light from afar.’’
He said the matter had been reported to the police “B” Division in Suleja, while the victims were rushed to the hospital.
No immediate response from the police in the area on the incident up till the time of filing the report yesterday.
