Suspected armed robbers on Tuesday attacked an electronic shop located by Agyana Road, Abaji metropolis, and stole N287,000.
The victim, Prince Chizoba Machu, while narrating the incident, said the two robbers, who came with sophisticated weapons attacked his shop around 9:50 pm on Tuesday.
He said he was inside his shop while tidying up the transaction he made for the day when the two robbers suddenly invaded his shop.
“Initially, when I saw them, I thought they were vigilantes as one of them was carrying a gun while the other one flashed light in my eyes but I quickly escaped through the back door,” he said.
According to him, despite he raised alarm after he escaped through the exit door, neither neighbours nor security agents came to his rescue, even as he said he has reported the incident at the police station in the area.
“It was later I came back to discover that the money I realised from sales for that day was taken away, even as I am yet to know if the other valuables from the shop were stolen,” he said.
Our reporter further learnt that some suspected armed robbers attacked a restaurant opposite Total filling station in Abaji on Monday night around 9:pm and carted away undisclosed sums of money and handsets at gunpoint.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, said the command was investigating the incident.
