A ghastly motor accident has claimed two lives while 28 others sustained various degrees of injuries along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.
Daily Trust learnt that the incident which happened around 1 pm on Monday involved a Katsina State Transport Authority vehicle heading to Kaduna and a tanker vehicle in an area close to Birnin Yero village.

Confirming the incident to Daily Trust, the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Acting Sector Commander in the state, Garba Lawal, described the accident as ‘fatal’.
“Two people died while 28 others sustained various degrees of injuries. We suspect that the driver of the bust KSTA bus made a wrong overtake which made him lose control and resulted in the fatal accident,” he said
The Acting Sector Commander further urged drivers plying highways to always drive with care, saying it s wrong to overtake at high speed without concentration.
He also cautioned the drivers of articulated vehicles to always abide by the rules and avoid arrogance while at the wheel.
