RMAFC commissioner, Tanko Abari, dies

A commissioner at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) representing the FCT, Alhaji Musa Tanko Abari, is dead.

A family member of the deceased, Isyaku Musa, who confirmed the death to our reporter on phone, said Abari died at about 2:34 pm on Tuesday, after a brief illness at a private hospital in Abuja.

He said though the deceased fell sick last week, he had recovered not until yesterday when his health deteriorated and he was rushed to the hospital.

City & Crime learnt that late Abari was a House of Representatives member during the administration of late President Shehu Shagari.

The deceased, who was also a chieftain of the APC in the FCT, contested for the FCT senate on the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) during the 2011 elections.
