Meanwhile, the Nigeria Premier Football League has rescheduled fixtures for MatchDay 15 and 16 for the 2023/2024 football season.

According to the NPFL, this was in consideration of difficult logistics associated with festive periods.

They noted that MatchDay 15 which was originally scheduled for Sunday, December 24, will now be held on Thursday, December 21.

Likewise, the MatchDay 16 fixtures originally scheduled for Sunday, December 31 has been brought forward to Thursday, December 28.

In another development, the management of Bayelsa United has said the team will no longer use branded jerseys to execute their league matches.

The Prosperity Boys disclosed this in a statement sent to the NPFL board.

It will be recalled that the former Federation Cup champions over the weekend unveiled a new kit which engraved the name of a new sponsor Halkin on it.
