The Rivers State Government says it has lifted the ban on promotions in the civil service.
Governor Nyesom Wike, stated this yesterday during the 2019 International Workers Day celebration in Port Harcourt.
Represented by his deputy, Ipalibo Harry, Wike said the chairman of the Civil Service Commission had been directed to conduct interviews and effect the promotion of civil
servants to their next salary grades.
He said he had also approved the recruitment of Rivers indigenes to fill existing vacancies as part of efforts to strengthen the civil service for effective service delivery.
Wike said his government had started implementing the N100 million interest-free loans for workers.
