A member of the 4th National Assembly and Rivers State governorship aspirant on the platform of the APC, Bernard Mikko, has said the stakeholders of the party in the state will unite in order to wrest power from the PDP in the state in 2023.
The Rivers State chapter of the APC was factionalised following a battle between the Minister of Transportation and former governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi, and Senator Magnus Abe over the control of party structure.

Addressing a press conference yesterday in Abuja, Hon Mikko said he was in the race to unite the stakeholders, win the governorship ticket and position the party for victory.
He said, “My own as a unifier is to bring all the parties together so that we can win this election. APC in Rivers state has been in limbo for almost eight years now. No House of Representatives, no senate, nothing not even a councillor.
“And you can see the problem between some of these parties that have led to this. I am coming into the race to unite all the factions in the state and make things work for our APC to win elections.”
