Rivers community gets new leaders

It was all excitement at the weekend when the people of Okporomini Community in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State installed Eze Joel Aka Ishikaku as Eze Uzor Ogwe I of Okporomini while Chief Elijah Orisah was  crowned as the Family Chief of Umu-Aka II. 

Speaking at the event, which took place at the Umu Aka family compound, the chairman of the occasion, High Chief Ogadi Tobia said  the coronation would usher in development, progress, unity and peace for the people of Okporomini and members of Umu Aka family. 

He urged the recipients of the traditional titles to bring to bear their mental and physical resources to move the community forward.

Also speaking, Ikeagwu A. Akokwu, Eze Ahiahu II of Egi Kingdom, admonished the newly sworn Eze of Okporomini to be diligent and transparent in the discharge of his duties.  

He tasked him to work towards uniting the community and carry everybody along to get his subjects’ confidence and trust. 

Eze Joel Aka Ishikaku in his acceptance speech commended the people of the community for finding him worthy for the title and promised to work towards development of the community. 

The family Chief of Umu Aka, chief Elijah Orisah, thanked members of this family for finding him worthy for the title and promised to be a good ambassador of the community.
