Governor Similanayi Fubara of Rivers State may have implemented another of the eight point resolutions reached at a peace meeting brokered between him and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, by President Bola Tinubu.

The governor seemed to have opened the way for the return of Wike’s loyalists who dumped his cabinet at the height of the crisis.

On Monday, the Rivers State House of Assembly invited nine loyalists of Wike to appear before it for screening as Commissioner designates.

Governor Fubara shortly after the peace meeting in Abuja implemented some of the resolutions reached such as the release of arrears of welfare accrual to the Assembly members, allowing them to carry out the business of legislation at a venue preferred by them as well as the resignation of Edison Ehie as the factional Speaker of the Assembly.

But re-absorbing of the commissioners loyal to Wike who had earlier resigned their appointments as well as the representation of the state budget are yet to be implemented.

The State House of Assembly in a letter of invitation signed by the Clerk, Dr Emeka Amadi directed key Wike loyalists who resigned to appear before it on Wednesday for screening.

They are Zacchaeus Adangor, ⁠Dr. Jacobson Mbina , ⁠Dr. Gift Worlu, ⁠Mrs Inime Chinwenwo- Aguma ,. ⁠Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke , ⁠Prof. Prince Chinedu Mmom , ⁠Dr. George-Kelly D. Alabo , ⁠Hon. Isaac Kamalu and ⁠Engr. Austin Ben Chioma

The nominees were directed to come along with 40 sets of Curriculum Vitae (CV) and photocopies of their credentials and their originals.

Fubara shortly had last week visited President Bola Tinubu but refused to disclose the outcome of the meeting.

The governor had on several occasions stated that he is ready to sacrifice anything for peace to reign.
