The Platform for Justice, Transparency and Good Governance, a human right organisation has called on the new Director General of the Department of State Service, (DSS) Yusuf Bichi, to continue the review of cases of persons in prolonged detention despite court orders for their release on bail.
Executive Director of the organisation, Nazir Galadanchi stated this while addressing journalists in Abuja yesterday.
He said government must strike a balance between rights of individuals and national security.
While the group condemned controversy trailing Bichi’s appointment, he said the President has both the Constitutional and Executive Rights to appoint who he thought fits into any position.
