Rice sales: Don’t mount pressure on us, customs warns Kwarans

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that it is yet to commence the selling of 25Kg bags of rice to the public.

The spokesman of the command, Chado Zakari, who disclosed this to newsmen at the weekend, said the public would be adequately informed when the command received the directive.

He assured that every section of the society would be carried along to ensure that residents of the state benefited from the federal government’s gesture.

He, therefore, urged the public not to put unnecessary pressure on the operatives of the command on the sales of the rice.

City & Crime further reports that a 25kg bag of rice is being sold at the rate of N10,000 in some states by the customs.

Recall that the customs service in Abuja announced that its offices nationwide would begin the sales of seized rice to the public at subsidised rates to mitigate the economic hardship being faced by Nigerians.
