Sani is a brother to Nuhu Ribadu while Modibbo is believed to be his close and loyal associate from the same constituency.
Ribadu is said to be happy with the court ruling that sacked the former acting governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the aborted  October 11 by-election because he realised that Fintiri was not willing to honour an agreement reached with the party leadership and 13 aspirants to zone the governorship ticket to Adamawa Central, Ribadu’s constituency in 2015.
Other spirants include the former chairman of Girei Local Government Council, Lawan Abubakar, former member of the House of Representatives and son of Bamanga Tukur, Awwal Tukur and former Comptroller General of Customs, Hamman Ahmad.
Investigations by Daily Trust revealed that members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly are rooting for one of them to be picked as deputy to Ngillari, a proposal the governor is said to be uncomfortable with. Daily Trust gathered that Governor Bala Ngillari and the speaker of the House of Assembly, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, were summoned by President Goodluck Jonathan for a meeting over the weekend.
The governor’s spokesman, Maxwel  Duku, declined comment on the issue, saying it involved the leadership of the PDP.
