Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and star player Paul Pogba have been at loggerheads because of Real Madrid, according to reports.
Manchester United star Pogba has clashed with Mourinho ever since the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat to Tottenham in February.
The France international had reportedly infuriated his manager by demanding to be played in his favoured position.
Consequently, talk has been rife that Manchester United may offload Pogba to one of Real Madrid, PSG or Barcelona this summer.
And Spanish outlet Don Balon say Pogba’s anger with Mourinho stems from the 54-year-old’s interest in Real playmaker Kroos.
United need to invest in a central midfielder to replace club legend Michael Carrick, who will join Mourinho’s coaching team.
Kroos would fit the bill and, having helped Real dominate European football in recent years, may be tempted.
Don Balon say Pogba is aware of United’s eagerness to land Kroos and has been taken aback, fearing he may miss out on a place in Mourinho’s team going forward.
Should Kroos prove unattainable, then Express Sport understands United are monitoring three other players.
Lazio bulldozer Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is on Mourinho’s radar.
And Fred and Jorginho are also tickling Mourinho’s fancy.
