Revalidation: Keyamo writes Buni’s committee, warns against looming crisis in Delta APC

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, on Wednesday, issued a stern warning to the National Interim Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Party (APC) led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, over the looming crisis in the state.

He gave the warning against the backdrop that the committee saddled with the responsibilities of registration and revalidation exercise of the party would begin to distribute materials to the coordinators in each local government area today.

The Delta APC chieftain, who also copied Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege; National Secretary and Women’s Rep of APC CEEPC; South/South Registration Committee among others, said the party must ensure that no leader has two nominees in each local government area in order to practice the principle of fairness, equity and justice.

He stressed that, for the ongoing registration and revalidation exercise to be successful in the State, the party must identify clear leaders of the party in the State.

He said: “As you are set to distribute your materials to the LGA coordinators on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, you must bear in mind the need to balance all the delicate interests within the APC in Delta State in such a way that you don’t put the entire materials meant for any LGA in the hands of two coordinators solely nominated by a particular political leader in the State, including myself.

“That will be unfair, unjust and unacceptable and will be a recipe for chaos in the State.

“My sources told me that this is exactly what you plan to do. You need to stop.

“You are therefore advised to first identify the leaders (like you have done in the last few days).

“Ensure that no one leader has two nominees in any particular LGA.

“Also, ensure that there is no much disparity between the number of nominees the leaders nominate for the exercise in all the LGAs.”
