The Edo State police command on Monday, gave seven days ultimatum to hoodlums who looted arms and ammunitions during the recent attack on police stations to return them or face arrest and prosecution.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, in Benin while speaking on the arms and ammunitions looted by hoodlums in the state.

“Criminal elements should return the looted arms and ammunition within seven days with effect from November 9. Failure to comply with this warning, the police will adopt legal means to arrest, disarm and prosecute them,” he said.

Kokumo promised to reward anyone with useful information that would lead to the arrest of suspects and recovery of the arms and ammunition.

He however solicited the collaboration of the people in the area of information gathering and dissemination, noting that the police can’t do it alone.
