A former Director of Research in the Ministry of Education, Nasarawa State, Mohammed Isa Ohikwo, and four timber workers have been kidnapped on a farm in Yimowa village in Toto LGA of the state.
A relation of the retired director, Baba Alhassan, confirmed the abduction through telephone on Wednesday.

He said the former director had finished work on his farm on Monday at Yimawo village, about three kilometres from Toto town and was preparing to return home he and the others were abducted around 5 pm.
According to him, the kidnapped director earlier asked for farm help and his three children that went with him to the farm to be going home.
He said the family reported the incident to the security agencies, adding that the kidnappers called on Tuesday claiming responsibility for the abduction but did not mention ransom.
When contacted, the spokesman of the Nasarawa State Police Command. ASP Ramhan Nansel, said he would contact the police division in Toto to find out and get back to our reporter.
