Resit examination not applicable to Nigerian candidates – WAEC

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Wednesday clarified that the resit of failed subjects for West African Senior Secondary Certificate (WASSCE) examination does not apply to Nigerian candidates.

It was widely reported that the examination body announced the launch of a new initiative to allow candidates who did not make it in the previous examination. This was announced by the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC, John Kapi, while speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show in Ghana on Tuesday, December 31st.

Clarifying the news report, the examination board in a post on its X handle said, “Please Note: The news circulating, about WAEC conducting a “resit examination” for candidates, does not apply to Nigerian candidates.”
