The Coordinator, Sokoto-Kebbi Department of Petroleum Resources, (DPR), Field Office, Muhammad Makera, has warned residents in Kebbi State to refrain from panic buying and storing of petroleum products in their houses.
Makera made the appeal yesterday in Birnin-Kebbi saying there was a sufficient quantity of the commodity in the country that would keep supply afloat for some time.
He explained that panic buying was in most cases a sources of creating unnecessary hardships as all might trooped in at once, while calling on those in the habit of storing the commodity in their houses to desist from doing so as it portents great danger to lives and property.
The coordinator also commended the level of compliances on implementation of the recently reviewed pump price of N125 per liter by the proprietors of filling stations in the state.
Makera said they were in the state for an inspection of filling stations for ensuring they were dispensing petroleum products without any hindrance.
