The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians to desist from buying drugs from hawkers so as not to fall prey to fake and substandard products.
The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, gave the warning in Osogbo, Osun State at a sensitization campaign organised by the agency.

Represented by Director, Food Safety and Applied Nutrition, Sheriff Olagunju, the NAFDAC DG said the public awareness campaign is one of the veritable regulatory mechanisms put in place by the agency to protect the health of the people.
Adeyeye also warned youths against abuse of codeine and self-medication. She also warned against the dangers of the wrong use of pesticides and insecticides as well as the wrong use of chemicals and their hazardous effects.
