Residents of Sabo-Oke community in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State have turned an abandoned sewage vehicle belonging to the state government to a refuse dump.
It was gathered that the vehicle was abandoned in the community after it developed a fault during a round of evacuation of waste in the area.

When City & Crime visited the community, it was observed that some of the inhabitants had started dumping refuse inside the vehicle.
A resident, Mr Abolore, said, “The vehicle has been abandoned since last week and the people have now started using it as a refuse dump.”
When contacted, an official of the Ministry of Environment in charge of waste management, who confided in our correspondent, said the delay in getting experts to fix it caused the situation.
“Yes, it’s true; it’s the challenge of getting those that specialise in repairs that is causing the delay.
“But we appeal to the residents of the area to desist from using it as a refuse dump,” he said.
