City & Crime learnt that the late district head ascended the throne on February 10, 1970, and was turbaned by the Suleja Emirate Council under the leadership of the late Alhaji Suleiman Barau.

Speaking with newsmen during the seventh day prayers for the late district head, his eldest son, Prince Ishaku Mohammadu Garba, said there were many legacies of his late father that would continue to foster peace and unity among the people of the chiefdom.

Garba described his late father as trustworthy, selfless, faithful and obedient.

Prince Garba, who is a retired civil servant, said his late father was married to six wives, had 19 children and 42 grandchildren.

He further said that his late father was the oldest and longest traditional ruler among all the chiefs in the FCT.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Ushafa community, Mr Ayuba Diko Alaye, said the late district head was a big access to Ushafa community, and that he was the custodian of Ggagyi culture and tradition in Bwari Area Council and the FCT at large.

He said one of the major legacies the late district head left behind was his constant preaching of unity and peaceful coexistence.
