Residents loot COVID-19 palliatives at Osun warehouse

Residents of Osogbo, Osun State capital on Friday looted the warehouse where food items donated to government as COVID-19 palliative were kept in Ede.

Huge crowd of residents stormed the warehouse at Cocoa Products Industry (CPI) and took food items.

The resident were seen looting the warehouse unhindered and leaving with the raw food and noodles.

Efforts to get government officials to react did not succeed as officials were not picking calls.

At the time of filing the report, more residents were still trooping to the warehouse to grab food.

Meanwhile, the protest was still ongoing at the popular Olaiya junction in Osogbo, the state capital.

However, the state government called off the 24-hour curfew which was imposed on Wednesday.
