The Zuru ethnic group from Kebbi State resident in Kaduna State have held special prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris, who died on September 20, 2020.
The Zuru residents, while describing the late emir as a father, urged the new Emir, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, to emulate his legacies, especially in advocating peaceful coexistence.
Daily Trust reports that the prayers, which were held at the palace of the Wakilin Zuru da Kewaye, Engr. Zubair Kabiru, at Mahuta Community in Kaduna, was attended by indigenous Muslims and Christians from Zuru.
The Muslim prayer was conducted by Malam Mas’ud Abdulkarim, while the Christian prayer was led by Pastor Ayuba Yusuf; both praying Allah to forgive the late emir’s soul and grant him paradise.
The Wakilin Zuru da Kewaye, Engr. Kabiru, said, “We the entire Zuru residents in Kaduna are touched by his death because he was a father to us and a man of peace.
“He always urged us to live in peace with others in our society and state in general.”
