Police rescue woman from ritual killers, arrest suspects

The police in Edo State have rescued a young woman identified as Esther Alu from suspected ritual killers.

The suspects – Osarobo .O, 25, Eboigbodin Jude, 24 and Maxwell Osagie,  24 – were also arrested by the police at a hotel in Benin City during the alleged ritual process.

The commissioner of police in the state, Funsho Adegboye, said the suspects were arrested on June 24. He said the police received information from the managing director of a hotel along the Benin-Sapele road, that a girl was crying in one of the rooms while someone was loudly chanting incantation simultaneously.

Funsho said operatives of the Anti-kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the police stormed the hotel and rescued the victim before they could complete the ritual process.

He said different types of charms were recovered from their possession, adding that they would be charged to court after investigation.
