The police in Benue have rescued a kidnap victim, Alexander Princess and recovered two cars earlier stolen in Makurdi metropolis of the state.
State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said the command received information that a Toyota Corolla salon car was snatched from its owner at gunpoint at Joecy Hotel in Makurdi and one Alexander Princess was abducted by some criminals.
Owoseni said the police anti-crime patrol team immediately went in pursuit of the criminal gang which was traced to an abandoned building and that on sighting the police, the criminals fired some gunshots and fled in different directions.
He noted however that the victim was rescued unhurt.
The commissioner listed items recovered from the hoodlums to include; one AK47 rifle, two locally fabricated Beretta Pistols, 70 live ammunition, 13 expended ammunition, four live cartridges, nine expended cartridges, a generator, a bag containing some items, an ash colour Toyota Corolla and the one earlier snatched from Joecy Hotel.
