The House of Representatives will, in the 2021 budget proposal, appropriate funds to compensate victims of the #EndSARS protests, Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila said on Tuesday.
He said this was to protect lives of Nigerians and compensate families of those reportedly killed during the protests in parts of the country.

Gbajabiamila said a proposed legislation on the matter would soon be tabled on the floor of the house.

He said the house leadership would meet with the national leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association today as part of the moves for further reforms of the police.
“We should get the list of those that lost their lives so that during this budget process, we’ll be able to appropriate for their full compensation,” he said.
