Reps reject PTAD’s budget, gives Executive Secretary 72 hrs to appear

The House of Representatives has given the Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, (PTAD), Chioma Ejikeme, 72 hours to appear before its Committee on Pensions to defend the agency’s 2021 budget.

This was after the committee sent away the PTAD management team that came to defend the budget on Wednesday.

The Committee expressed displeasure over the failure of the executive secretary to appear before it to defend the budget and render the performance of the 2020 budget.

The Committee therefore refused to consider PTAD’s 2020 budget performance and 2021 budget and sent back the officials who came for the 2021 budget defence.

They ordered the officials to reappear alongside the Executive Secretary within 72 hours.

The Committee chairman, Rep. Alhassan Kabir Rurum (APC, kano) ruled on a resolution on a motion by Rep. Chudi Momah (APGA, Anambra).

He moved the motion after the Director of Parastatals Pensions Department who represented the Executive Secretary had announced that he was representing the Executive Secretary.
