The House of Representatives has begun an investigation into the repetition of capital projects in annual budgets of ministries departments and agencies.
The ad-hoc committee set up by the house to investigate the issue from 2015 to date, headed by Makki Yelleman, commenced sitting on Tuesday.
In his opening address at the investigative hearing, the speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila, lamented the low turnout by the heads of MDAs.
The speaker, represented by House Leader Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, warned that, any MDA that failed to honour the committee’s invitation or failed to justify the alleged continued appearance of capital projects in its budget would face the full weight of the law.
