A global technology and solar company, Comcore, has unveiled its renewable energy products to tackle the challenges in Nigeria’s energy sector.
In his remarks with journalists shortly after the launch on Tuesday in Abuja, Chief Executive Officer, MACOSINE and a partner with Comcore, Mr. Ayomide Ketiku, said that the company in partnership with stakeholders would set up a Research and Development center to address the energy crisis facing Nigeria.
He said the company plans to add additional 30mw to the nation’s offgrid energy to the interest of the citizenry.
“COMCORE as a technology and energy company, is partnering with MACOSINE to set up a Research and Development centre here in Nigeria to analyse Nigeria’s energy problems. Within the next 18-months the R & D would commence across the country,” he stated.
Ayomide explained that the components of the device are locally sourced adding that the partnership will halt the endemic challenges facing Nigeria power industry.
He said, “This kind of development will create a great asset to the country’s economy because a lot of jobs will be created. The centre will resolve Nigeria’s power sector.”
According to him, it is in the interest of Nigeria that the alternative energy be developed and sunlight and other natural endowment be utilized.
