The House of Representatives has passed the 2024 Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA)’s supplementary budget.
The budget was passed on Thursday after the presentation of the report on the proposed supplementary appropriation by the Chairman, House Committee on Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Rep. Mukhtar Betara and its consideration by the committee on supply.
The report reads, “That the House do receive the report of the committee on Federal Capital Territory on a bill for an act to authorise the issue from the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s statutory Revenue Fund of the Federal Capital Territory Administration account, the total sum of N288,000,000,000 only, for capital projects; for the service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Abuja, for the Financial year ending 31 December, 2024.”
The passage of the supplementary budget was sequel to the receipt of a letter from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu earlier on Tuesday, September 24, requesting the House’s consideration and passage.
The bill was referred to the Committee on FCT for further legislative action after it passed second reading on Wednesday, September 25, which submitted its report on Thursday.
