The House of Representatives has passed for third reading a bill seeking to establish the Federal Polytechnic, Fagge, Kano State.
The bill was introduced on the floor of the House last year and was sponsored by Aminu Suleiman Goro (APC, Kano), who represents Fagge Federal Constituency.
The bill passed second reading in May last year and was referred to the House Committee on Tertiary Education and TetFund, chaired by the Kano lawmaker.
The committee held a public hearing on the bill where all the stakeholders endorsed the establishment of the Federal Polytechnic, Fagge.
The bill states that the polytechnic would provide opportunities for technical education in furtherance of the government’s economic objective of ensuring efficient, dynamic and self-reliant economy.
