The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the House of Representatives has asked the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) submit details of its budgets, tax payments and subsidy benefits for eight years, starting from 2010.
The panel, headed by Kingsley Chinda (PDP, Rivers), also demanded the corporation to provide its nominal roll, appointments and employment, procurement processes, audited accounts, among others for the same period.
At a session with the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the corporation, Maikanti Baru, in Abuja, the panel said the office of the Auditor General of the Federation, Anthony Ayene, had raised several queries on the operations of NNPC that needed to be cleared.
Chinda while listing the items the panel needed from NNPC said, “We require your nominal rolls that have staff tied to their states and their gender identified in the nominal rolls.”
He listed other items to include: “Details of all tax liabilities and payments, which will include income tax, value added tax, withholding tax and evidence of remittances should be furnished to us.”
Baru promised to submit all the requested items to the panel.
