Reps give 2-month salaries to fight Covid-19

All 360 members of the House of Representatives have resolved to donate their two-month pay to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila announced the decision in a video message on Tuesday.

Gbajabiamila said: “We have in the House of Representatives jointly committed to contributing one hundred per cent (100%) of our salaries for the next two months to the fight against COVID-19 in Nigeria.

The donation is coming after Ministers and Senators donated 50% of their salaries.

A member of the House representing Darazo/Ganjuwa federal constituency, Mansur Manu Soro had few days ago called for the contribution of N1millon each from the 360 members of the House to raise funds to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
