The House of Representatives has called on the Nigerian Police, the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest killers of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO), DSP Abdulkadir Abubakar Rano, in Jibia, Katsina state.
The late DPO was killed by bandits when he attempted to rescue a kidnapped woman in Jibia, on Tuesday.

At plenary on Tuesday, Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, (APC, Kano), moved a motion on matters of urgent public importance.
Presenting the motion, the lawmaker stated that the late DPO confronted kidnappers and other criminals in Jibia and surrounding areas.
He said: “The killing of DSP Rano occurred at a time the Nigerian Police and indeed the entire country needs him most, given his unparalleled commitment in fighting crime.
“Beyond the commendable condolences and monetary donations extended to the family of the deceased by Katsina and Kano State governments, there was nothing done to establish serious investigation into the remote and immediate causes of the brutal killing of this young man by concerned authorities”.
