The House of Representatives Wednesday N876bn budget for the Niger Delta Development Commission for the 2023 financial year.
This followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the House Committee on NDDC chaired by Olubunmi Tunji Ojo.
The details of the budget show that N34.24bn is for personnel expenditure; N17.47bn, overhead; N3.71bn, internal capital expenditure; and N490.55bn, projects development
The House also approved President Muhammadu Buhari’s request for extension of the implementation period of the capital component of the 2022 budget by six months, from June to December 2023.

This followed the passage for first and second readings as well as the consideration and adoption of a report on an executive bill for an Act to amend the 2022 Appropriation Act to extend the implementation of the capital aspect of the 2022 budget from June 30 to December 31, 2023.
The bill was sponsored by the majority leader, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa and considered by the committee of supply chaired by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila.
