Remo Stars bounced back from their 0-1 loss at Kwara United in MatchDay 5 to reclaim the top position after dismantling Nasarawa United 3-0 in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) week six match played yesterday in Ikenne.
After a barren first half, Remo Stars turned the heat on their visitors and were rewarded with the opening goal when experienced striker, Alimi Sikiru, found the back of the net in the 51st minute.
Eight minutes later, Stanley Joseph doubled the lead before Super Eagles fringe defender, Sodiq Ismail, completed the rout of Nasarawa United with the third in the 62nd minute for Remo Stars to return to the top of the log with 15 points.
At the Bako Kontagora Stadium, newly appointed Lobi Stars coach, Daniel Amokachi, was denied victory on his debut as Niger Tornadoes fought back to draw 1-1 with the ‘Pride of Benue’.

Former Rangers striker, Ossy Martins gave Lobi Stars the lead in the 62nd minute in the north central derby but Emmanuel Olawale equalised in the 90th minute for Tornadoes to escape back-to-back defeats.
Elsewhere, Ibrahim Yahaya’s lone goal in the 4th minute gave Bayelsa United the maximum points at home against Plateau United, Kano Pillars fall in Uyo where Endurance Ebederibi and Friday Apollos scored a goal each to hand Akwa United 2-0 victory while Sunday Megwo’s solitary strike helped Abia Warriors to victory in the early kick off against Kwara United in Umuahia.
Emmanuel Amuneke continued his resurgence with Heartland FC who forced El-kanemi Warriors to a barren draw in Maiduguri just as Katsina United shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw with Rivers United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
