Ahmed stated this against the backdrop of recent allegation of marginalization in appointments by leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the state.
The association had addressed a press conference where it announced its withdrawal from the state inter-religious committee, alleging marginalisation of Christians in appointments into public offices.
But during a media chat at the weekend, the governor said appointments are geographical distributed and not carried out on the basis of religion. Ahmed stressed that some local governments like those in Kwara-South were populated with families of different religions.
He added that the government would not allow itself to be dragged into any religious controversy.
“Don’t forget that Kwara consists of Nupes, Yorubas, Hausas, Fulanis and the Barutens among others, and we have a responsibility of making everybody feel part and parcel of the state. So, already we’re faced with the challenge of balancing ourselves geographically. Don’t also forget that we are actually divided again into three senatorial districts- the North, the Central and the South.
