He said this recently at Hayin Banki, an area in Kaduna North, when he visited to inspect the monthly sanitation exercise there.
He made known that the services of about 91 refuse disposal companies have been engaged by the state government to collect refuse across the state, adding that the companies employed over 2,700 sanitation workers to help them dispose refuse dumped at different locations in the state.
The commissioner urged residents of the area to take the monthly sanitation exercise very seriously by ensuring that the day is dedicated to cleaning of their homes and environment.
He, however, told the people that the state government was consulting with some private organisations and individuals to set up recycling plants in the state where refuse collected can be used to produce fertiliser among other things.
“This will help to further create wealth,” he said.
Responding, the district head of the area, Malam Mahmood Galadima, thanked the commissioner for visiting his area to observe the sanitation exercise, assuring that he will encourage his community members to imbibe the culture of keeping their environment clean at all times.
