Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Senator Basheer Garba, weekend flagged off the distribution of care and maintenance items to 1,500 households comprising 7, 500 displaced persons in Kano State. Garba said the commission would construct a-600 household resettlement city estate for “Persons Of Concerns (POCs)” in the state.
He said the proposed settlement included two-bedroom housing units, a primary healthcare centre, educational learning centres for improved rehabilitation and educational development of displaced children, skills acquisition facilities, recreational facilities, running water, security post and internal road networks.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje presented a certificate of occupancy of 20 hectares of land for the construction of the resettlement houses.
The governor said the state government was committed to the welfare of its people hence easing the Federal Government’s gesture by donating the land to the commission.
