The Nigeria Red Cross Society, in partnership with Islamic Relief UK, has donated grains worth N24 million to 335 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Paikoro Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.
The donated items include bags of rice, beans, millet, and 335 gallons of 5kg vegetable oil.
Gideon Adamu Paiko, the Niger State Secretary of the Nigeria Red Cross Society, while presenting the items to the beneficiaries, said the provisions are intended to alleviate the hardships faced by the displaced individuals, who have been affected by continuous attacks from bandits.
He encouraged the IDPs to persist in their prayers for an end to banditry and insurgency, noting the severe impact of such activities on farming communities across the state.
