Red Cross discovers 100 malnourished children in Benue

The Nigerian Red Cross (NRC) on Monday disclosed that it discovered over 100 malnourished children from several communities within the past four months in Benue State.

Our correspondent reports that the discovery followed interventions by the Norwegian Red Cross in partnership with the Nigerian Red Cross through a series of health projects in five local government areas in the state.

Project Manager, Community Health of the Nigeria Red Cross, Adama Abdul, who made this known to journalists in Makurdi while assessing the intervention projects in the state, noted that the Red Cross has trained over 237 volunteers for the detection of malnourished cases and 400 volunteers on how to prevent an outbreak of epidemics through best hygiene practices.
