…Recover vehicle stolen from Kogi in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has recovered a Toyota Rav SUV vehicle stolen from Kogi State by suspected armed robbers in the state.

The public relations officer of the command, SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba, said the owner of the vehicle said it was stolen from his compound.

Edafe said the Toyota Rav SUV with registration number KUJ-311-MB is black in colour

He said the driver of the stolen vehicle abandoned the car and ran into the bush when chased by operatives of Safer Highway Patrol Team deployed to Sapele while conducting stop and search along Mosogar Benin road.

He explained that the driver before getting to the checkpoint maneouvred the vehicle and sped off while the operatives immediately went after him.

The command’s spokesman added that the suspect, on noticing that the policemen were closing in on him abandoned the vehicle and fled into a the bush.

“The vehicle was recovered and upon a search, the particulars bearing the name and contact of the owner were found.

“The owner was immediately contacted and stated that the vehicle was stolen from his compound in Kogi State,” he added.

Edafe listed items recovered from the vehicle to include two metal master keys and 14 different Toyota vehicle keys.

He said investigation and efforts are ongoing to arrest the suspect.
