The Ikeja Electric Plc has cautioned commuters against reckless driving which is causing damage to its electricity assets resulting in blackout in some communities within its network, especially on Lagos Mainland.
The Head of Quality, Health and Safety Environment of the Distribution Company (DisCo), Engr Jamiu Badmos, stated this following incessant collision of vehicles with electricity poles and other electricity facilities in the DisCo’s network.
He blamed most of the accidents on negligence, non-concentration, drunkenness, worn-out tyres and over-speeding.

Jamiu, therefore, advised Lagosians to drive carefully to avoid unwarranted collisions with electricity facilities, warning that whoever destroyed any electricity asset in the DisCo’s network would bear the cost of damage, apart from charging the person for loss of revenue for the period of the outage.
