The North East Development Commission has urged Nigerians not to leave the rebuilding of the devastated northeast to the government alone.
NEDC Managing Director, Mohammad Alkali, made the call in Abuja while receiving the management team of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, led by its Director-General, Mansur Liman, at the commission’s office.

“The commission has been able to achieve a number of feats since its inception in the areas such as humanitarian intervention, provision of food and non-food items across the north east zone; provision of 10,000 mass housing units, for the IDP returnees/person of concerns with 1,000 units already completed at Ngowom Town of Mafa LGA in Borno State under the Presidential Intervention Projects.
“We’ve also launched the commission’s Rapid Response Intervention project were at least two projects in each of the 112 LGAs in the North East Zone with an envelope of at N50m amounting to about N6bn,” Alkali said.
